How Goldshield works – Active surface modification
After application and drying Goldshield technology modifies the surface by creating a silicone polymer biocide that binds to any surface including fabrics. The microbe is then pulled onto the molecule by strong electrostatic forces so the surface becomes “active” in pulling the microbe onto the biocidal spikes. The microbe is then pierced and killed. The analogy is “a bed of molecular nails”.
